摘要
Dambovita County covers an area of 4,054 km(2) and has a population of 528,619 inhabitants in the year 2013, out of which 161,146 people live in the urban area (7 towns) and 367,473 in the rural area (82 communes, 353 villages). The water resources of Dambovita County are made up of ground waters (rivers and lakes) and underground waters. This territory is included in two main hydrographic basins, Buzau - Ialomita (41.59% in the Ialomita basin) and Arges - Vedea (58.41% in Arges basin), both being subordinated to the Romanian National Water Administration. The water resources management concerns the unitary, rational and integrated management of the resources for a sustainable development. Regarding the ecological condition of the water resources, one can mention two categories of impact: 1. that produced by used (industrial-domestic) urban waters insufficiently treated, discharged in the rivers (Ialomita - receiver for the used waters of the localities Fieni, Pucioasa, Targoviste; Neajlov - for used waters from the treatment station of Gaesti Town); 2. the impact produced on the water courses going through the operation areas of oil derricks: the group of oil fields Moreni - Razvad - Gura Ocnitei (Cricov, Pascov, Cezeanu), the group of oils fields Strambu - Cobia - Leordeni - Ludesti (Cobia, Potopu, Stambu, Saru, Slanic, Ilfov), recording high values over the admissible limits of the 1st quality class for the indicators chlorides and oil products, following the impact of the technological and oil field water leaks from the above-mentioned areas. At the same time, the human agglomerations that, by actions such as: uncontrolled evacuation of the used waters, especially in those localities without sewage networks, low percentage of the population connected to the sewage and sewerage networks or the improper wastes management, constitute as well other factors contributing to the degradation of the water quality.
