摘要
Background. Surviving cancer after oncological treatment is often accompanied by physical and psychosocial long-term sequelae, which need special consideration. Objective. This overview article describes relevant psychosocial long-term sequelae and different approaches for prevention and treatment. Material and methods. Areview of relevant scientific and empirical contributions in apsycho-oncological context and presentation of psycho-oncological experiences. Results. There are potentially severe social and psychological impairments for people after cancer. These can be conflicts at work, financial constraints, social conflicts, fatigue symptoms, anxiety and depressive symptoms. Psycho-oncological support for patients and their relatives exists as well as individual specific offers for long-term survivors of cancer. Conclusion. Interdisciplinary attention to long-term effects after cancer and cancer treatment is needed as well as more specific support.
