摘要
This paper presents a novel experimental technique that combines three dimensional (3D) scanning and a quantitative assessment of the 3D geometric shape of foam cups to investigate the deformation behavior of foam during bra cup scanning and its relation to the moulding conditions. The results suggest that deformation of a moulded cup when compared with its plastic shot scanned in the bird-view position is consistently less than that in the upward-view position. Under the experimental conditions used in this study, the lengths of the dwell time for the bra cup moulding process have a significant effect on the amount of deformation for the two types of foam materials studied. This study aims to provide an accurate, efficient and economical solution for measuring cup deformation with a plastic shot and providing a better understanding and more accurate modeling of the deformation behavior of foam to assure the quality and process of bra cup moulding.
