RETRACTED: Two mixed-ligand Cu(II) complexes: Crystal structures and treatment activity on uterine fibroids (Retracted article. See vol. 1277, 2023)

In the present study, by employing 5-(4-carboxybenzyloxy)isophthalic acid (H3L), a kind of semirigid trigonal polycarboxylate ligand via exploiting various nitrogen-donor co-ligands, two mixed ligand Cu(II) coordination polymers (CPs) were generated via the hydrothermal reactions, and their chemical formula are [Cu-5(mu(4)-L)(2)(bpy)(4)(mu(2)-OH)(2)(mu(3)-HCOO)(2)(H2O)(2)](n) (1, bpy = 4,4'-bipyridine) and [Cu-2(L)(biz)(OH)]center dot H2O (2, biz is benzimidazole). Furthermore, the application values of the new compounds combined with high intensity focused ultrasound on uterine fibroids was examined and the specific mechanism was studied simultaneously. Firstly, the as-prepared compounds' inhibitory against the cancer cells viability was measured through the CCK-8 assay. Subsequently, the apoptosis assay of Annexin V-FITC/PI was applied for the detection of the cancer cells apoptosis levels after the treatment of compound. Afterwards, the sex hormones levels in the plasma were detected with ELISA assay. Finally, the relative expression of the sex hormones receptors on the smooth muscle cell were measured with real time RT-PCR. (C) 2022 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
