Laser remelting of plasma sprayed coatings

摘要
The effect of laser remelting on the microstructure and corrosion resistance of cobalt based and nickel based alloy plasma sprayed coatings has been investigated. The results show that coating microstructure and density are markedly improved by laser melting and much better chemical homogeneity is obtained. The microhardness and corrosion resistance of the coatings are also enhanced significantly following laser melting. (C) 2000 Laser Institute of America. [S1042-346X(00)00403-4].
