摘要
To create an environment conducive to the access of elderly people to social protection in Togo, this study was conducted in the Maritime and Savannah regions and aims to collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data on the living conditions of these elderly people and propose innovative measures to improve the social coverage of the elderly in Togo, especially those living in precarious situations. The methodology chosen for this study is based on the participatory approach with two ( 02) data collection and analysis methods: quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitatively, 332 elderly people were interviewed in both regions and 10 were interviewed according to the qualitative method. The results show that the socio-economic living conditions of the elderly are deteriorating continuously. This affects their psycho-emotional and health situation. There are challenges to be met by putting in place innovative social protection mechanisms for this segment of the population.
