摘要
Subjects or Study Selection Seven electronic databases (MEDLINE, PubMed, Google Scholar, Web of Science, Scopus, the Cochrane Oral Health Group's Trials Register, and CENTRAL) were searched. Additionally, a hand search of the reference lists of the included studies and additional sources was conducted. The inclusion criteria included only prospective randomized clinical trials (RCTs) that directly compared between powered and manual toothbrushing among patients with fixed orthodontic appliances with at least a 4 week follow-up period. Two independent researchers conducted the data extraction and analysis. The Cochrane Risk of Bias tool was used for the RCT quality assessment.
