Hall effect in a two-dimensional electron gas

摘要：
The behaviour of the Hall coefficient in a quasi-two-dimensional electron gas with a cosine dispersion law is studied. It is found that the Hall coefficient may be either positive or negative. The positive Hall effect is attributed to the existence of a negative effective mass in a region of the electron mini-band.
