摘要
The preservation of cultural heritage buildings in Indonesia is still quite difficult. Encouraging the change of the building from the traditional form to a more modern form has led to the loss of traditional architecture in Indonesia. One of the cases we are going to adopt is a traditional house Osing (rumah gebyok) in Desa Kemiren, Banyuwangi Regency. The community believes that preserving indigenous homes is not economically viable and limiting the right of people to change traditional buildings according to their style and needs. The purpose of this research is to approach society from the social form of society, where the social factor seen as a trust among community members, adopted norms and network with other members. This research try to identify the influences of this component on society intention to preserve the traditional building. In keeping with the development of tourism in the Banyuwangi Regency, the preservation of the traditional building could support this. Tourists staying in their homes can offer economic value to the community because of the traditional foster family. These three components are the factors as components or indicators of social capital, where the level of social capital within community members will facilitate coordination and increase community participation which can enhance mutual benefits. Structural equation model (SEM) with AMOS software applied in this research. The result indicate that the level of social capital value could influence the trust variable on social network; trust on the norm, and the influences of the norm on social network. Based on cluster analysis on the intention to preserve and not preserve traditional buildings, social capital has a positive relationship with the intention of the community in the development of their home as homestay.
