A Design Method of Minimum Signal Duration with 100% Probability of Intercept in Real-time Spectrum Analysis

摘要
This paper introduces the implementation principle and calculation method of minimum signal duration with 100% probability of intercept (100% POI) index, which is the real-time performance evaluation index of real-time spectrum analysis mode in spectrum analyzer. Moreover, a hybrid parallel FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) algorithm suitable for FPGA implementation is introduced, the comparison shows that the FFT based on this algorithm has the advantages of high speed and high precision. So, it can effectively improve 100% POI. At the same time, in view of the problem that there is no effective measurement method for 100% POI currently, an innovative method is proposed. The method can use the output pulse signal of signal generator to infinitely approach the actual value of 100% POI, and the effectiveness of the method is verified by actual measurement.
