For those working in the field of gallium nitride (GaN) power transistors and amplifiers, this article's subtitle (»A Perspective on Transistor Modeling for GaN High-Power Amplifier Design») is probably self-explanatory. Others may have questions: What is transistor modeling? What is GaN? Why is it important for power amplifier (PA) design? So, first, I will try to answer these questions, and others, to provide some perspective on transistor modeling for GaN PA design. © 2000-2012 IEEE.
