摘要
In this paper, Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT)-based extractions of the earth fault features in medium voltage (MV) networks are investigated. The transients produced on the electrical networks due to faults depends on several issues such as neutral point treatments and incipient fault angles. This study is carried out considering these issues with varying the fault resistance from solidly fault until one MO. Considering the effect of the fault resistance on the network transients, suitable mother wavelet and appropriate details are chosen. A threshold for DWT-based detection of earth faults is suggested. The impact of different arc model parameters is also investigated. It is invaluable for enhancing the earth fault detection in MV networks in particular the high impedance arcing faults. The fault interactions with different earthing networks (earthed, unearthed and compensated) are simulated using the ATP/FMTP program.
