The g-factor of the bound electron as a test of quantum electrodynamics

摘要
The magnetic moment of the electron bound in hydrogen-like ions serves as test of bound-state quantum electrodynamics. Experiments on single ions confined in a Penning trap have reached fractional uncertainties in the 10-10 range. In parallel, theory has developed to a similar level of accuracy. From a comparison of theory and experiment a new value for the electron's atomic mass can be derived which is more than one order of magnitude more precise than previously known.
