摘要
This paper discusses the question, which degree of PSA completeness is required for risk-informed decision making. Completeness includes several different areas such as initiating events, failure modes, operating states and end states. The information of this paper is based on the experience of risk-informed decisions at the Beznau nuclear power plant. The paper discusses the progress in completeness of a PSA study performed during the 1980s and of a PSA study end of the 1990s. The paper discusses several areas of possible lack of completeness and their impact on risk-informed applications. Finally, the paper discusses which aspects of completeness are important for several risk-informed applications and defines a new end state that is helpful for risk-informed investigations.
