Literature, nation and nationalism

This article surveys the changes taking place in Chilean literature (narrative fiction and poetry) and in literary criticism during the early decades of the XX Century. For this purpose an extensive corpus of authors and works comes under consideration, conformed by those that were best receptioned in that epoch. The article also shows the link between these changes and the reconfiguration of the national imaginary, as well as with a scenogrophy of the historical time as key to an integration process which opened to include new social sectors in the collective imaginary.
