Optimum Allocation and Sizing of Distributed Generators in Microgrid

Microgrid has attracted much attention in recent years thanks to the promise of mitigating voltage drop and reducing line loss to the grid from a combination distributed generations(DG). Detailed analyses of the Microgrid's radial network are carried out considering DG's effect on line losses and voltage regulation. A combined graph-based and GA(Genetic Algorithm) new method is proposed to calculate the optimal allocation and sizing for DG in Microgrid. This novel method based on a large number of equations analysis and constraints including voltage boundary violation is employed to significantly simplify the complicated process and numerous assumptions in the traditional method. In a simulation case, it is found the correctness and feasibility of the proposed method in comparison with the traditional methods.
