Studies of polarization reversal and dielectric properties of Pb(Li0.25Eu0.25W0.5)O3 ceramics

A polycrystalline sample of Pb(Li0.25Eu0.25W0.5)O-3 ceramic was prepared by the solid-state reaction technique. Preliminary X-ray analysis suggests the formation of a single-phase compound in the orthorhombic crystal system at room temperature. Scanning electron micrographs show the homogeneity of the compound under investigation. Detailed studies of the hysteresis loop and dielectric properties of the compound as a function of temperature suggest that the compound undergoes a ferro-paraelectric phase transition at 340 K. The variation of DC resistivity, both as a function of biasing electric field and temperature, showed the NTC behaviour of the compound. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
