Correlation between weight regain, body image satisfaction and quality of life in women with more than 24 months after bariatric surgery

Introduction: The presenceofweightregainpresence of weight regain (WR)anddissatisfactionwithbodyimagecan(WR) and dissatisfaction with body image can impacttheperceptionofQualityofLife(QOL)impact the perception of Quality of Life (QOL) inthelatepostoperativeperiodofbariatricin the late postoperative period of bariatric surgery.It'srelevanttoinvestigatethesurgery. It's relevant to investigate the correlationbetweenthesefactors.correlation between these factors. MaterialsMaterials andand MMethods:Crossethods: Cross--sectionalstudycarriedoutsectional study carried out with45womenwhohadundergonebariatricwith 45 women who had undergone bariatric surgeryforatleast24months.Theproportionsurgery for at least 24 months. The proportion ofexcessweightloss(EWL)andWRwasof excess weight loss (EWL) and WR was calculated,questionsrelatedtosatisfactioncalculated, questions related to satisfaction withbodyselfwith body self --imageandtheShortFormimage and the Short Form HealthySurveyquestionnaire(SFHealthy Survey questionnaire (SF --36)was36) was appliedtodescribetheperceptionofQOL.Theapplied to describe the perception of QOL. The datawereanalyzedinSPSS,v.21.Resultsdata were analyzed in SPSS, v.21. Results andDiscussion:Mostparticipantswereand Discussion: Most participants were successfulinEWL(78.6 +/- 27.9%),therewasasuccessful in EWL (78.6 +/- 27.9%), there was a significantWRin55.6%and68.9%ofwomesignificant WR in 55.6% and 68.9% of womenn weresatisfiedwiththeirselfwere satisfied with their self-image.Therewasimage. There was aninversecorrelationbetweenWRandthean inverse correlation between WR and the functionalcapacitydomainsofQOL(r2=functional capacity domains of QOL (r2 = -0.414;p=0.002),limitationduetophysical0.414; p = 0.002), limitation due to physical aspects(r2=aspects (r2 = - 0.429;p=0.002)andpain0.429; p = 0.002) and pain domain(r2=domain (r2 = - 0.256;p=0.045).0.256; p = 0.045). TherewasaThere was a directcorrelationbetweensatisfactionwithdirect correlation between satisfaction with bodyimageandthedomainsgeneralhealthbody image and the domains general health status(r2=0.330;p=0.013),vitality(r2=status (r2 = 0.330; p = 0.013), vitality (r2 = 0.268;p=0.038),socialaspects(r2=0.314;p0.268; p = 0.038), social aspects (r2 = 0.314; p =0.018)andemotionalaspects(r2=0.286;p= 0.018) and emotional aspects (r2 = 0.286; p =0.029).Conc= 0.029). Conclusion:TheoccurrenceofWRlusion: The occurrence of WR anddissatisfactionwithselfand dissatisfaction with self-imagecanimpactimage can impact theperceptionofQOLaftersurgery.the perception of QOL after surgery.
