High temperature grain boundary internal friction and intergranular precipitates in Ni-Cr alloys

摘要
High temperature internal friction, elastic shear modulus measurements and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observations have been performed in Ni-Cr alloys. The results show clearly that high temperature elastic and anelastic behaviour is closely related with the grain boundary structure, in particular the presence, the density and the stability of intergranular precipitates. The results are discussed in term of grain boundary sliding at high temperature in these materials.
