Flat-panel backlight for view-sequential 3D display

摘要
A slim backlight has been developed that emits collimated light whose direction can be scanned. The backlight is expected to enable the construction of a flat-panel view-sequential 3D display. The boundaries between the light-emitting diodes that illuminate each view are eliminated using homogenisers which are only 9 mm long. The result is uniform illumination of each view and no observable singularities between adjacent views.
