摘要
Creating a reading habit throughout the different educational stages brings countless benefits which translate into an improvement in communication competence and progress in all areas of knowledge. Analyzing the aspects that influence this learning process motivates this research work, which aims to understand the motivation, interest and value of reading 641 Primary and Early Childhood Education 4 and 10 years olds (49% boys and 51% girls). The data collection was carried out on a sociodemographic scale, attitudes and interests towards reading and the Reader Motivation Scale. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between motivation, interest and value in reading; they also emphasized that there are differences regarding the educational stage in terms of interest, the value in reading and the motivation rate. These results show the need to design reading promotion campaigns from early childhood education, where family and school work motivation and reading interest, awakening with it the assessment of reading and the pleasure of literature, giving it the importance as the basis of its subsequent development of the child.
