Even though SCM has existed for years, it is just in the recent years that manufacturing companies, ICT vendors and researchers have started talking about Supply Chains Operations Models. The rationale for establishing an ICT supported Operations Model is to illustrate the design, operation and improvement of the production systems that create the companies' primary product or services. This paper will compare and discuss different supply chain Operations Models, and present an industrial case where such a model was developed.
