摘要
"Value Choice and the Theoretical Construction of Ethical Literary Criticism," a article written by Professor Nie Zhenzhao, was first published in the 10th issue of Social Sciences in China in 2020. The arguments of the article stimulates a wide-spread discussion among scholars. As the academic journal of International Association for Ethical Literary Criticism, Interdisciplinary Studies of Literature collects a cluster of articles to probe into the theoretical construction of ethical literary criticism, focusing on its theoretical foundation, critical discourse and critical paradigm. American ethical criticism, as one of the theoretical resources of ethical literary criticism, fails to construct its theoretical system and critical methodology, thus is only a literary trend. On the contrary, Chinese ethical literary criticism puts forward ethical selection as its fundamental theory and then develops its critical discourse, thus constructs its theoretical system and critical methodology, which proves that fundamental theory and academic discourse is of great importance for the construction of a theory of literary criticism.
