PERTINENCE FOR THE BIOMEDICINE CAREER IN ZONE 3 OF ECUADOR

One of the main objectives of higher education in Ecuador is to guarantee quality training, excellence, and relevance. The study for the creation of the Biomedicine career in the matrix of the Universidad Regional Autonoma de Los Andes UNIANDES is oriented to the application of the principles and techniques of traditional engineering in the field of medicine for the solution of social problems related to the medical and technological aspect in Ecuador. For this, the study was carried out with two referents: documentary analysis and market research; the research has a quantitative approach and is descriptive, with a field study. For the collection of data, the survey technique was applied with different populations according to the study, thus we worked with employers, graduates, and high school graduates. The creation of the Biomedicine Career satisfies a need of the current society both in Zone 3 and at a national level, focused on solving the problems that afflict the health context in relation to the field of biomedical technology and equipment.
