摘要
This paper deals with the operation, mathematical Modeling and controller design for the jacketed continuous stirred tank reactor. The conventional gain tuning of PID controller (such as Ziegler-Nichols (ZN) method) is poor in response for non Linear processes and usually produces a big overshoot, therefore modern Controlling approach such as Internal Model Control(IMC) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) are employed to increase the capability of traditional techniques. The comparison between PSO based PID (PSO-PID) IMC based PID (IMC-PID) and the ZN-PID is presented. The simulation is carried out using MATLAB. The result is compared in terms of system transient characteristics and performance index.
