GIS-based mathematical modeling of urban air pollution

摘要
In this work, a mathematical model for admixture transport in the atmosphere of a given area is developed. An efficient finite-difference controlled-accuracy method is used that suppresses the numerical viscosity by introducing an "antidiffusion" term. The model is validated by test calculations using actual data on the city of Almaty. A technique for incorporating the model into a geographic information system (GIS) is developed thus providing information support for the model, its adaptation to the object under modeling, and a user interface.
