A multimedia-based intelligent configurator for network access equipment

We propose a novel approach to equipment configuration, which takes advantage of multimedia presentation and intelligent agents technology to facilitate the configuration process. The system implements a dynamic user interface with selective hiding andhigh-lighting. In addition, an intelligent configuration agent is incorporated into our configuration program. The intelligent configuration agent will automatically search and find inconsistencies during configuration process and will notify the user. A prototype using this technique is being implemented for the RACAL FastFrame(TM)(2) product line.
