The preparation and oxidation behavious of SiO2 and SiC coating 3-D braided carbon fiber

摘要
The SiO2 coating on 3-D braided carbon fiber was prepared by the sol-dipping method. And also the SiC coating with about 0.55 mum thickness was prepared by carbothermic reduction reaction. The oxidation reaction kinetic and mechanism of composite fiber were studied. The results showed that the oxidation resistance of composite fiber was obviously improved by coating. The oxidation process of composite fiber was reaction-controlled in the first oxidation step, gas diffusion and chemical reaction controlled in the second oxidation step.
