摘要
Emission reductions, total energy costing, improved energy efficiency and sustainable energy systems are the four principles of the Global Energy Charter. Much has been done in many countries toward the implementation of the charter, but progress was not fast enough to ease the effects of many ill-conceived energy systems on the environment. Rechanneling energy investments and research money into sustainable energy, rather than in to business-as-usual of depleting unsustainable energy concepts are needed to protect the environment. Energy efficiency investments have the best return and produce the cleanest energy. Therefore energy efficiency investments must rank at the top of investment agendas.
