摘要
A numerical model based on the surface vorticity method, which make use of discrete vortex blobs, is employed to simulate the flow around two cylinders in tandem arrangement in the sub-critical Reynolds number. The numerical model is developed using a vorticity sheet to simulate the boundary layer, and subsequent separation, convection and diffusion of vorticity. Upon successful simulation on the flow around a rigid circular cylinder in st cross flow, the model is applied to study the results of fluid-structure interaction of an elastic circular cylinder in a uniform flow. The effect of the frequency ratio and reduced damping to the vibration amplitude of the cylinder is studied. The cylinder motion is modeled by a spring-damper-mass system. The numerical simulation of flow around two circular cylinders in a tandem arrangement is presented.
