Needs for access to institutional services of families with children with intellectual disability

摘要
This article presents the results of an investigation with a quantitative focus and descriptive cross-sectional design. It has such as purpose to identify the level of access to services offered by the government and private institutions to families of children in the intellectual disability condition. It was attended by 82 families from the cities of Bogota D.C, Cali and Putumayo, 16 dads and 66 moms in charge of 54 children and 28 girls aged between two and 17 years. In this was applied the instrument of FNA Colombia version and ran an analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results show the highest need for educational services for children and as a lower family understanding within spiritual beliefs. Likewise differences 1) by sex: Families with children (M=3,46) have more needs than families with girls (M=3,10), and 2) by age in two groups: the first with higher results between two and 10 years, and the second from 11 to 17 years shows that families with a childs adolescents (M=3,60) have a greater need for access to services than families with children (M=3,99).
