摘要：

This article sets out to examine changes in the competitiveness of East Asian exports in the pre- and post-Asian financial crisis periods. The patterns of Taiwanese, ASEAN and Chinese exports are becoming increasingly convergent, with the highest degree of similarity being found in the US; this is therefore the market where competition is most intense. In the Japanese market, the degree of export similarity is relatively low, indicating a lower level of competition.
