Application of the fast multipole method to the variational boundary element method for large acoustic radiation problems

摘要
The Fast Multipole Method (FMM) has been successfully implemented in the multiphysics simulation software OOFELIE and applied to Variational Boundary Element Method (VBEM). The method allows to address acoustic radiation and diffraction problems with very large wave number (several tens of thousand unknowns on the radiation surface). It is demonstrated that the computation procedure is not only feasible but also runs quite fast on ordinary computers.
