Performance of a packet combining ARQ scheme for a CDMA based wireless ATM network

In this paper, the performance of a packet combining scheme is analysed and simulated for a CDMA based wireless ATM network in a Rayleigh fading channel. The performance is evaluated in terms of cell loss ratio and maximum cell transfer delay. The data sequence is encoded with RS (Reed-Solomon) code and a packet combining scheme is employed. In the decoding of RS code, BDD (bounded distance decoding) is used. In the CDMA radio access, perfect chip synchronization and perfect power control are assumed. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that the packet combining scheme significantly improves the performance of wireless ATM network. We can And an application of this paper to design of a CDMA-based wireless ATM network.
