摘要
Ancient Economy remains a rich field of analysis, but also complex and difficult when seeking an integration of data of diverse epistemological nature. For this reason, there are few cases of attempted cross-checking of historical and archaeological or environmental data. In this article, we seek to undertake two major exercises of data confrontation: to analyse diachronically archaeological data of a commercial nature, namely those that transmit us more reliable temporal and regional fluctuations, like those of the terra sigillata; to compare these data with other economic data of an environmental and epidemiological nature; to analyse the freight prices proposed by the Price Edict of 301 AD, comparing the real costs between the various routes and thus try to unravel the relationship of labour costs to intermediaries and the final costs of products to consumers in each region.
