摘要
Mobile agent is an intelligent agent which acts on the behalf of user. In the area of distributing computing mobile agent is having a wide scope. Security and fault tolerance are the two main issues in the progress of mobile agent computing. Fault tolerance makes system versatile and provides reliable execution even in case of an occurrence of any fault. This paper proposes a novel fault tolerance approach for read only as well as read/write applications. To achieve fault tolerance use the concept of checkpointing and cloning of original agent and to make it suitable for write applications integrate it with a mechanism which preserves exactly once execution in it also integrated the mechanism with footprints approach which are helpful for location tracking of the agent. For the sake of implementation we need aglet mobile agent platform to run an agent successfully within its itinerary. The results have been evaluated on the basis of parameters like checkpointing, round trip time and exactly once mechanism. The evaluated results shows that our proposed approach is suitable for read as well as read/write applications.
