摘要
Biomass energy continues to be the main source of energy for many developing countries, mostly in its traditional forms. This situation is unlikely to change significantly in the near to the medium term. In a number of recent international studies bioenergy is increasingly being recognized as a potential environmentally sustainable source of energy which can help to lead to climate stabilization. In many developing countries bioenergy in increasingly used in modem applications and as a complementary fuel. The most promising areas of growth in the non-traditional biomass sector are cogeneration of electricity and heat from sugarcane bagasse and other residues from agriculture and forestry, and liquid and gaseous fuels for transportation.
