Second Mediterranean record of Emperor angelfish, Pomacanthus imperator (Osteichthyes: Pomacanthidae), and first record from the Syrian coast

摘要：
This second Mediterranean record of Emperor angelfish, Pomacanthus imperator (Bloch, 1787) constitutes also the first record of this non-indigenous species for the Syrian waters. The specimen is succinctly described including morphometric measurements and meristic counts. The species distribution in the eastern Mediterranean Sea is commented and discussed. However, this new capture does not suggest that a viable population of P. imperator is established in the area, further records are needed in order to assess its local occurrence.
