Influence of early coronary reperfusion on the time course of QT interval dispersion after acute myocardial infarction

We studied the influence of early coronary reperfusion on the time course of QT interval dispersion in patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI). At the acute phase after MI, there were no significant differences in the QT dispersion and QTc dispersion (QT(c) dispersion) between patients with early coronary reperfusion and those without. However, there were significant differences in the QT(c) dispersion between patients with early coronary reperfusion and those without at the recovery phase after MI. Comparison of QT(c) dispersion between acute and recovery phase revealed significant reduction from acute to recovery phase in patients with early coronary reperfusion. The significant difference of QT interval dispersion depends on the presence and absence of early coronary reperfusion only in the recovery phase of acute MI.
