Epirubicin in the treatment of breast cancer

摘要：
Epirubicin (E) is one of the most active drug in breast cancer. The rates of disease-free survival and overall survival are increased in the adjuvant polychemotherapy which includes E. This anthracycline has shown to slightly improve survival rates in patients with metastatic breast cancer. The incidence of cardiotoxicity due to E is lower than with doxorubicin treatment and it can be reduced by monitoring the cumulative dose and by echocardiographic control.
