摘要
This article deals with the bibliographical review of distance education, and aims to systematise some theoretical contributions and visualise their potential for improving educational processes in times of pandemics. Documents were initially collected between 2010 and 2021, to which various selection and exclusion criteria were applied, obtaining a small number of studies that were analysed qualitatively. The results were described according to the research questions posed: What was the perspective of distance education until 2019, What are the pedagogical approaches to virtual environments in social isolation, What are the new roles of teachers, students and family, and What tools are implemented in this context of COVID-19, for this purpose were included those studies on distance education and virtual learning environments, Education and COVID-19 and education in the pandemic in the databases of Dialnet, Redalyc, Scielo and Google Schoolar. The results show that virtual education offers the support to give continuity to educational processes in times of social isolation, allowing the development, construction, interaction and socialization of knowledge from the exchange of knowledge, experiences and ideas of the actors at all academic levels, all with the implementation of educational environments with varied and very rich resources that respond to the different needs, rhythms and learning styles of students.
