摘要：
The overall purpose of the EBRD is defined in Article 1 of its founding Agreement: "In contributing to economic progress and reconstruction, the purpose of the Bank shall be to foster the transition towards open market-orientated economies and to promote private and entrepreneurial initiative in Central and Eastern European and the Former Soviet Union countries committed to and applying the principles of multiparty democracy, pluralism and market economics".
