Dynamic analysis of high-speed roller bearings with EHL theory

A dynamic model for high-speed roller bearings to examine the dynamic behavior of the rollers and the cage with elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) is presented in terms of the Second Newton Law. This paper analyses the interaction of the rolling elements and its dynamics. Roller-race interaction is analysed in detail and the resulting normal force and moment vectors are determined. Elastohydrodynamic traction model is considered in determining the roller-race tractive forces and moments. With the software provided in this paper, it can not only simulate dynamically roller speed rotating both about the axis of the bearing and about the axis of the roller and cage speed rotating about its own axis at any time, but calculate the skidding of the rollers and the cage. This paper also simulates the cage mass center orbit.
