Autonomy development of traditional-aged students: Themes and processes

摘要
Based on interviews with 10 traditional-aged seniors enrolled at a research university in the Southeast, who were questioned retrospectively about their experiences related to autonomy development, Chickering and Reisser's components of development were present. For these students, however a single path for autonomy development did not occur. For them, autonomy development was a complex process characterized by a network of interrelated life experiences in multiple domains.
