摘要
This paper intends to address factors that prompt the US implementation of antidumping measures to China. We adopt a political economy approach to analyze factors that affect antidumping actions. From the perspective of China's real situation in terms of facing many antidumping suits by the US, we discuss theoretically reasons and the role of interest groups in the antidumping processes. A binary discrete-choice model is used to analyze 42 US antidumping cases against China between 1995 and 2005. Our study finds that the ability in industry-specific expressions of interest is an important factor in the ultimate decision-making process of the US implementation of antidumping measures. When the ability in expressions of interest of the industry is extremely strong, economic environment plays a minor role. However, when it is relatively weak, economic environment will play a significant role.
