Small Hydropower Plant as a Supplier for the Primary Energy Consumer

摘要
The paper presents the "run of the river" Small Hydropower Plant as an individual supplier whose aim is to reduce the amount of energy used by a consumer from a power system. The analyzed object consists of two propeller turbines, PM synchronous generators and power electronic units. Application of a variable speed operation provides a wide range of power generation. Moreover, the power electronic converter is used to compensate reactive power in a consumer local system. Furthermore, installation of two parallel turbine units across the river makes water energy use more efficient. The results present a real power plant of the 180kVA total power.
