摘要
Clinicians should use a stepwise approach to prepare for, initiate, monitor, and maintain adherence to antiretroviral therapy. Data generated in clinical trials and clinician experience informs evidence-based practice related to adherence. Interventions should include both didactic and interactive components, addressing the need for information by providing education and the need for emotional support through discussion and counseling.
