摘要
Estuarine aquaculture in the coastal belt plays a key role in food security, production and supply chain. In the current COVID scenario, an efficient, sustainable and contactless system is the need of the hour, to keep up with the rising demands for food. Estuarine aquaculture involves culturing of fish species in a controlled environment so as to meet the increased demands. This requires continuous monitoring of the controlled environment which results in a labor-intensive proposition at the site. To simplify the task of the aquaculture farmers, the proposed solution named as 'Estuarine-Star' ensures that the entire site of aquaculture is maintained autonomously without the presence of the farmer at the site. The system comprises of 5 underwater sensors connected in the form of a star placed at strategic points in the site. These strategically placed underwater sensors sense the environmental parameters and through edge computing take appropriate actions to maintain an optimal environment. The data is also stored on the cloud. Furthermore, a camera system captures the underwater view of the fishes to study and understand the behavior of the fishes. This will help in taking targeted actions when abnormality in parameters is detected. The system ensures optimal conditions for rearing of fish thereby providing sustainable and profitable growth for the farmers. The interactive application hosted on cloud makes use of real time parameters and live video for alert generation and recommendations.
