Preparation and mechanical properties of Zr-based containing Co bulk metallic glass

摘要
Zr-Ti-Cu-Ni-Be-Co bulk metallic glass were prepared by water quenching method. The phase composition was analyzed by XRD, the surface and fracture morphology of the sample after compression was observed by SEM, and the temperature of glass transformation and crystallization and the thermal stability was measured by using thermal analyzer. The effect of Co addition on glass forming ability, thermal stability and mechanical properties of Zr-Ti-Cu-Ni-Be-Co alloy was investigated. The results indicated that all alloy containing Co have a distinct glass transformation point and wide overcooling liquid region. Zr38Ti17Cu10.5Co12Be22.5 alloy has a largest DeltaT compared with that of Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5 alloy; Co addition significantly improved mechanical properties of Zr-Ti-Cu-Ni-Be BMGs, compressive facture strengths sigma(f) of Zr-Ti-Cu-Ni-Be alloys containing more than 10% Co content exceed 2000 MPa, sigma(f) of Zr38Ti17Co22.5Be22.5 alloy reaches 2230 MPa, it is increase by 23% as compared with that of Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5.
