An azobenzene-containing side-on liquid crystal polymer

摘要：
A new azobenzene-containing side-on LC polymer was synthesized. It shows a nematic phase. Its photochemical properties were characterized in solution and in thin film. The N-I phase transition can be induced upon irradiation in the pi-pi* absorption region of the polymer.
